FOOTBALL SEASON IS ALMOST HERE BABY!

I love football: high school, college, and NFL, I can even tolerate Arena football.  I’m a season University of Hawaii ticket holder, NFL Sunday ticket subscriber, and I fly to the mainland and spend thousands of dollars  just to watch NFL football games.

Do I have a sickness?  Maybe.

What do I love about the game?  Everything.   And when I say everything, I mean everything from the tailgating to the actual game itself.   But chances are, you already know someone like me.

Am I just like your future husband?

Or maybe I’m just like you?

Yes, I’m a fan of Michael Vick!

What am I getting to here?

Here’s the elephant in the room.  Chances are, if the Philadelphia Eagles are playing, don’t expect me to answer my phone, or for me to work during the game.  I may work after or before the game, but not during.

I will also not work on Superbowl Sunday.   I’ll work on Christmas, New Years Eve, even on my birthday.    But don’t ask me to work on Superbowl Sunday.  Superbowl Sunday is like what Christmas is to a kid, sacred beyond all reasonable means.

Please forgive me for my sickness.

MY THOUGHTS ON MICHAEL VICK

You really can’t be a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles without getting into a discussion about Michael Vick’s troubling dog fighting past.  I’m an animal lover.  I have two cats, a cocktail, and a wild peacock that stops by house on regular basis.

Do I believe what I think Michael Vick did was wrong?   Yes and no.

It was illegal, and it was disgusting.  But I can see that in certain cultures, fighting animals is a way of life.   The Greeks did it, Spaniards still do it, and here in Hawaii, I know tons of people who participate in cock fighting.   Where Michael Vick was raised, dog fighting was a way of life, as cock fighting is a way of many Hawaii’s culture.  It’s illegal, it was wrong, and disgusting.  But it’s accepted in local circles.

Two years in federal prison, and the threat of getting butt raped on a daily bases can change a man.  Coming out of prison, Vick is now a lot more humble, a man who listens to his coaches, wants to learn the game of football, and someone who has been spirituality reborn.

Here’s my opinion.   Vick has sinned.  Sinned to himself, his family, and to many animal lovers.  Now let him atone.  Let him atone how Paul atoned in the Bible, even if part of that process involves getting paid millions of dollars.

I pretty much do everything around here, from photography and video production, to the organization of all of my weddings. As you can see, I'm also the head writer too! If for some reason you can't reach me at my direct line, or my toll free number, feel free to hit me up on my company cell at (808) 479-0685. Call anytime...well, almost anytime. Don't call on Super Bowl Sunday or when the Philadelphia Eagles are playing!
