WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
ABOUT HAWAII
Chances are that you're probably very interested in coming to Hawaii to get married. And don't worry, it's common to NOT know where to start. It's common to know nothing about Hawaii , it's common to not know anything on how to get married. Why is it common? Why else? Because you're not a celebrity, and you don't count marriage years in dog years, and you haven't been married 3 times in the past year. Well, unless you're that one client of mine who calls and tells me, “Steve, I think I found the one….again…are you free…” I've stopped accepting business from him actually. This guy has to stay married.
So what should you know about Hawaii?

LETS START WITH THE WEATHER. It's basically 85 degrees, partly cloudy, partly sunny as with what our “grand-master” weathermen say everyday. Which of course, mean the same stupid thing if you really think about it. Yes, the weather is pretty much perfect. Our rain seasons are around winter. But even when it rains and pours, rarely does it rain throughout the entire island. It rains near the mountains. So 99.9% of the time, we can get great pictures for your wedding because all we have to do, is to make sure we conduct your wedding, where the rain don't shine…does that make sense at all?
In the summer, the sun can get a little hot, so having your wedding at around noon may not be the best idea, especially if you're planning on wearing a huge wedding dress. Most of the time, for your wedding; have your groom dress casual. And for you, try to STAY AWY from the “gown” dresses, because you'll sweat quite a bit here if you're not used to the humidity.
That brings us to the subject of humidity. It's pretty humid here. Not like Florida, but it's humid. But don't worry, it's a comfortable humidity. When you first get off the airplane, you'll feel as though you're sucking air through a straw, but the human body is an incredible adaptive machine. A couple of hours, you'll be breathing fine. My tips. When in Hawaii, always dress like you're going to the beach. No pants, unless you're eating out. Surf trunks, all the time. If you don't have any, head over to Costco and buy some nice ones. And oh yeah, before I forget, pack the deodorant.

Hurricane Iniki 1992. Category 4, swept straight over Kaui.
HURRICANES? Hurricane season runs from June to November. Every ten years, Hawaii is supposed to be due for a large hurricane. The last hurricane, Iniki, probably the most powerful to ever hit us, was back in 1992. So unfortunately, if statistics were to hold true, this would mean that Hawaii is long overdue for a hurricane strike. Of course, the million dollar question would be, what should we do if your wedding date falls on the exact date of a hurricane strike? Although the possibilities are very small, this could very well happen. Lightning can strike.
In case of a hurricane, I would simply move your wedding date to day either before or after the hurricane makes land. That's all. It is actually possible to find great weather before and after a hurricane. Most of the time though, I would try to move your wedding date to a day after the hurricane. The odds of getting blue skies are greater.
