That's me, Steve Young, in Wisconsin! A lot colder than Hawaii...
A little Bit about Dream Weddings Hawaii and myself :)
So now that you've probably surfed through my entire web site, you're probably wondering who we are, who runs this operation, yada yada yada....We'll, to begin, it's me who runs Dream Weddings Hawaii...me being Steve Young. There's really no other person other than me who runs the joint around here.. Yes, that's me, freezing my Hawaiian butt off in Wisconsin. A couple had booked me to photograph their wedding up there. Isn't that pretty cool? Anyway, I basically am the one who plans everything around here (coordinates), not to mention...the one who takes the photos and video (at the same time), but I do use the word "we" a lot because I do get a lot of help. Oh by the way, yes, these photos on this web site are ALL mine.
My philosophy on wedding coordination? To keep everything fun, simple, fun, low-stress, and...did I mention fun. You know, there's this notion around town that planning a wedding can be stressful. I beg to differ. "Close Family" makes weddings stressful, the wedding process though is pretty much easily handled. Mother's, if you are reading this, please...let your daughter, or daughter in law plan her own wedding. You're only making things worse by interjecting your creative opinion.
I like to compare Weddings to the NFL. Well, mostly because I'm a huge NFL fan. I love the Eagles. But here's my theory. Like the NFL, preparation to win the big game week after week, is handled during the week, during the months leading up to the game..., not on the game day. You coach the least on your game day. So like weddings, if we prepare everything correctly, when it comes to your wedding day, it'll flow smoothly. Almost like a well oiled machine. Situations may arise, but because you're dealing with professionals, little fires will be put out by your vendors, not your coordinator.
My background? You're going to laugh because I used to be screenwriter.Yes, I am a writer. Through a few investments, I made when I was younger,I basically ended up in wedding industry and fell in love with it. I currently own about 3 companies at the moment, and they all have to do with the wedding industry! I approach each wedding with the care and fire of my 1st wedding I ever coordinated. Each couple, not matter how much money they spend with me is very very special. And I believe that it is a privilege, not a job, to help each couple start there new chapter in life together.
I have about 10 years of wedding experience under my belt. I was never taught by anyone. But through a lot of hard work I've thoroughly dissected this industry to point where I really know too much about it for a straight guy. The fine print here is that one of my other companies that I own, that you will hear about next year...will specialize in teaching brides the right and wrong way to coordinate a wedding. To write the perfect educational plan for brides, I had to thoroughly research the industry. And that I have.... Ask me how you can make money off of your wedding. I know. Ask me how photographers rip off wedding couples through hidden sales, I'll spill the beans. Ask me how hotels try to double your wedding budget...I can tell you... etc..etc... So you see, I'm this wedding guy guru etc..etc...here at your service :)

"Every photo that I take tends to tell a story"
So what about my photography? We'll, it's funny. I know I'm a professional photographer. But because I'm a screenwriter at heart, I truly believe that I still am a professional writer. Just that my medium has changed from computer to camera. I basically try to tell stories with each frame that I snap. I'm also very capable of taking a broad range of photos in a very small amount of pictures and understand a great deal of lighting techinques because of my movie background.. In other words, I'm pretty accurate with my shots, and don't shoot hundreds photos to get one good shot. You can really see my movie background in all of my pictures, as each frame tends to feel like a movie still.
And my video? My video is pretty nice as well....you can check out a video by clicking here Sometimes it's nice to stretch my story telling skills with video. That link will take you to a Buddhist wedding that I shot earlier this year. The Buddhist minister though, is not one of our guys.

You can really see my movie background in all of my pictures, as each frame tends to feel like a movie still.
Now..why should you book with me? To begin, I offer incredible customer service. I'll forward my office phone to my cell phone everyday...every vacation...including Christmas. You can call me whenever you want. If I can't answer the phone, leave a message, and I'll call your right back. Secondly, my wedding services are very very beautiful. My ministers are really great, and like me...care for the couples that they are marrying. Lastly, it's our photo and video services. This may sound very big headed, but I do believe our work is far better than the majority of our competitors.
Last words? I would be truly honored to have the opportunity to plan your wedding. I will do my best, deliver the photos and video on your wedding day, and make your overall planning process...fun So I hope to hear from you soon and I win your hearts and business. You folks take care...
Sincerely,
Steve Young "The Wedding Guy"
