Hey there! So you found the most interesting page on my site. This is my recent Oahu wedding, Hawaii wedding, and...well..lets be honest, it's a blog. The story behind this blog, well, it started out purely about Hawaii weddings, then it evolved into everything and all of the above. Basically, ITS MY BLOG!! So I write about anything on here. I updated this blog "alomost" on a daily basis. You can learn more about me, my quirks, my style, and of course, you'll get wedding tips here. Call me if you want to make me richer..I mean, book my services! 1-877-WED-IN-HAWAII or email me at info@dreamweddingshawaii.com
CRAZY WEATHER...EMAIL DOWN...
So guess what, it is going to be a windy day tomorrow. We should be expecting 60mph gust. What does that mean for me? Nothing really. We are expecting intermittent power tomorrow, so I got my generator ready to go. It's pretty crazy right now as the island seems to be preparing for the worse. The federal and state government is closed for business tomorrow, as with all public schools, and a handful of private schools. Luckily, I have no wedding tomorrow. A good question though is, what would I do if I had a wedding on a windy day like tomorrow. The answer, most likely, I would reschedule their wedding for a later day if they have the time. If we can't, we would tell the bride to wear her hair up, bustle her train up, and make do with what we have.
Eagles - Cardinals Game...
GO EAGLES!!My team gets another chance...
Well, I don't believe it, but my team this year is headed toward the NFC Championship, and I can't believe it. As many of you may already know, I am a huge Eagles fan, and just a huge NFL and college football fan altogether. It's been a lot of fun over the years that I have been in business to use football as a way getting to know many of my couples. I've met Cheeseheads, Rams fans, Giants fans, and of course Philly fans. I remember one of my couples actually bought me a Donovan McNabb Jersey, and another bought me a Randall Cunningham Jersey (as he was my favorite player of the Eagles). That was just completely unexpected. So how am I spending this week Sunday. I'll be huddled in front of the plasma, watching that Eagles-Cards game. I'll still have my cell phone on in case any of you need to get ahold of me. But more than likely, my TV will be on so loud, that I won't be able to hear it ring. I promise though, if it rings, I'll just put my live TV on hold (I have DVR), and we can chat for a bit! Wanna hear something funny. There are some couples who book with me just because I am a football fan, and some who book with me just because I'm an Eagles fan. It has nothing to do with my photography, or my service, or anything. That's team spirit. Who said my love for the game would never amount to anything!! AN UPDATE ON JANUARY!!
Well, I am happy to report that business has been rather good for the month of January. I only have one wedding this month, but other than that, bookings have been pouring in. This is actually a good sign as this tells me that people are still willing to travel to Hawaii to get married. And that the down economy isn't really having too much of a negative affect on peoples choices to get married. Couples are spending less though, and there have been more cancellations over the past year than ever before.
THE HOT Months to book SO FAR have been February and October. Don't ask me why...but there seems to be a huge demand for the Pro Bowl in Hawaii, maybe because it's moving; and weddings. Couples are flying down to Oahu to watch the last Hawaii Pro Bowl and then to get hitched right after! Amazing. I think couples are booking in October right now because travel around that time, is cheap.
Months that still are relatively wide open...well, that would be all the other months.
Well, I'm about to head out to a meeting. I'll try posting photos of recent weddings when I get back... Talk to you all soon
Not everyone enjoys weddings..

FROM ONE OF MY LAST WEDDINGS...FUNNY...
Happy Belated New Years
Happy New Year!!!! Hey everyone! So first let me say, Happy "BELATED" New Year. I hope everyone had an awesome one, filled with lots of illegal fireworks and well....illegal fireworks. Sorry I haven't updated my blog in a bit. I've been relatively busy here with weddings, bookings, Eagles football, and the usual family related holiday crap-o-la.
HERE'S THE BIG NEWS I WANT TO BREAK TO EVERYONE
Prices for 2008 are going to stay put, and prices for 2009 are also going to stay put. No price hikes whatsoever! The bad news is that prices are not going lower, despite the troubling economy.
On other news, well...let see, what can I write about. Lets talk about wedding industry stuff. Did I ever tell you that January is probably one of the busiest months for me when it comes to bookings? Yes it actually is. I don't know why, I'm not sure if it's the same for my competitors, but for me, January has always been a busy booking month. So if you're looking to get hitched this year, you better start calling, because this is when dates start going. But here's the funny thing, on the flip-side, I don't have many weddings that happen in January. This month, I only have a handful of weddings....maybe 5 or 6, but that's it. THE YEAR OF OBAMA BEGINS!! Am I fearing Obama's reign of power? Not really. I may not agree with his policy, and I feel as though he really has no idea what he's gotten himself into. But, I think he is a tough man. So I don't think he'll be weak on the war on radical islam. Well, I hope he's not. But the way I look at it, the guy played dirty politics in Chicago, he knows dirty people (no doubt), and the guy is a smooth talker. He has all the traits of organized mafia mastermind, including the nice family. So when terrorist will push him, I think he'll push back...dirty...and he may fight harder than Bush. But we'll see, his choice of the head of the CIA and the Surgeon General, very disturbing. WHAT ELSE IS NEW? Well, what you seen my friggen Eagles? You know, let me bloviate here for a bit. But that team, my team, I think it could be our year. I'll have to see. If we win against the Giants this weekend, I'm going to be one very happy camper. You know, I'm not sure what I would do if the Eagles would ever win the Superbowl. Maybe I'd offer a free wedding for Eagles superbowl tickets? haha....ouuu..... Would that even be a fair value exchange? But honestly, I really loved this season of football. The Eagles defense really looks awesome. It's clicking on all 120 cylinders, and we just look fast out there. Speed is our game. Keep cheering on my boys this weekend. We need all the help we can get. MY NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS I really don't make new years resolutions, but I do promise to do a few things here. I want to improve on my photography...and I think...that's about it for now. Before I go...here are some pictures from my latest weddings at the Secret Cove at Ko'olina.
