Hey there! So you found the most interesting page on my site. This is my recent Oahu wedding, Hawaii wedding, and...well..lets be honest, it's a blog. The story behind this blog, well, it started out purely about Hawaii weddings, then it evolved into everything and all of the above. Basically, ITS MY BLOG!! So I write about anything on here. I updated this blog "alomost" on a daily basis. You can learn more about me, my quirks, my style, and of course, you'll get wedding tips here. Call me if you want to make me richer..I mean, book my services! 1-877-WED-IN-HAWAII or email me at info@dreamweddingshawaii.com
Hey everyone!!!
Sorry I haven't updated this blog yet. Guess what...I've been down with a cold. It started about 3 weeks ago with really bad allergy attack, and then..the cough started up. So I'm feeling better now, but I still have that lingering cough. The great news is that I went to the doctor and it's not anything serious. It's not asthma, it's not pnuemonia, it's not bronchitis, nothing like that. It's just a post nasal-drip thing. As an updated though, there are a few things to note. My 1-800 number is down temporary till the end of the month. I need to renew my lease on that 1-800 number. I may have to change it to a 1-877 number if I lose it because 1-800 numbers are so hard to come by these days. Regarding beach wedding permits. I am still not getting them. I have been advised by a constitutional lawyer that the permit law actually violates the 1st amendment and a lot of other laws. I am putting together a lawsuit against the state to file a TRO, that will put a stop to the permit law for beach weddings. Basically, the entire wedding industry will be coming together to pay this lawyer in a class-action suit, to stop the law. We need to do this to save the wedding industry. In the meantime, there is no need to get the permit...as there is no need to abide by a rule, which violates the law. A BIG CHANGE WILL BE HAPPENING TO MY WEBSITE! Yes, it's going to be more news like. My blog will be up on the front page, and articles on weddings, things to do in Hawaii, hotel reviews, and some non-wedding stuff....all authored by me. There will be a lot of content here... I need to do this to boost my google ranking. Business has been slow. I thought it was the slow down of the economy, but the more I think about it...it's not the slow down of the economy, its actually by google ranking. So I'll be up on the 1st page for many keywords..business will hopefully pick up to 2005-2006 levels... 2007-2008, has been very very slow. Anyway, talk to you all soon. As soon as this week ends...I'll start posting more often...and writing more often...as the website will take on a whole new beast.
DLNR, true intentions exposed...
First, I would like to send out a "thank you" to all those who have responded in over whelming support of my battle against the communist division of Hawaii, the DLNR. Not surprisingly, I did get a few hate comments, which I basically refuse to publish because well..some included a little profanity, and others flat out criticized my lack of grammatical skills. Hey, just because I don't proof my blogs, doesn't make my argument or opinion invalid. My response, this is a personal blog, not a literary published piece of art to be submitted to Pulitzer....and if you don't get my point, then you probably need to go back to school to learn simple reading comprehension skills. To date, I have contacted several attorneys, including the ACLU, and I have been informed that I do have a case...in fact, the wedding industry has a case. The DLNR is currently trying to regulate land in which they don't own. Remember, Unencumbered State Land, is an oxymoron.... It basically means state land which is not own by the state, or any entity. How can you issue a permit for that? You can't. So they are issuing a "right of entry" permit. Basically, the DLNR is permitting a company to enter public land, not to use public land. The DLNR is also infringing on the State's Business Bill of Rights, as they have not executed an Economic Impact Study on the use of permits...which is needed....it's law here in Hawaii. And lastly, they are completely ignoring the 2001 ruling, in which a U.S. District Court ruled in favor of the wedding industry. There are a few bloggers that have written to me that the 2001 ruling is void because the DLNR was given jurisdiction of the beaches in Hawaii. In conversations with my lawyers, they said this is completely false. Just because an organization is assigned jurisdiction over any property, does not mean that organization can rewrite court rulings as they see fit. Any court ruling needs to be over-turned in a court-of-law, in order for that law to be interpreted differently. See, I don't fear the permit itself...It's the future regulation of the wedding industry which I fear. Just recently, Morria Atta, of the DLNR told the Star Bulletin that his office will be collecting data to help determine appropriate sites for beach weddings and what their capacities should be. Right now, the DLNR is giving out permits to anyone who wants one. This is just a ploy. It won't always be this way. They are collecting data on which wedding sites are popular. Then, they're going to regulate it... to each beach's capacity... So when they regulate each beach, the big question would be...which wedding company would get the permits? And will couples be given the choice to choose which wedding company they could go with? The answer is no, couples won't be given the freedom to choose their wedding company. They will be forced to go with the wedding company which holds the permit for that beach, and more so...that time slot. I also fear that a secondary permit trading market will be created...meaning, one wedding company will sell their time slot to another wedding company for a profit. Of course, this screams communism... Not good.....not good at all people.
