Our Past Weddings...

Aloha and welcome to our Recent Wedding Page, or what I like to call it, my company blog. This is where I get to write about my most recent weddings. I'll post as often as I can about each wedding, and a little off-topic wedding blogs as well (Just to keep it interesting). Couples have told me that they love this part of my site the best as they tend to get to know about me and my company more from my postings. Don't forget to call us if you're interested in our services at 1-800-557-1310 or email us at info@dreamweddingshawaii.com

Computer Graphics, touching up photos

If you've read my blog, I'm a huge fan of film. I'm not a huge fan of digital photography. I always believe that a shot should be as real as possible, without any "touching up." Most digital photographers will take your picture, then touch up the exposure later in the computer. Sometimes they may fix your hair, put in a fake sunset, you name it.

Well, to me, any touchups is a form of cheating. If it's not real, then where's the skill of photography? As a wedding photographer, I am trying to glamourize the true moment of your wedding, not to make one up. So I will not snap a shot of film if there is a person in the background, put in a fake sunset, or if your hair is getting "wind-blown." I'm like a sniper, I only shoot when the shot is perfect. To me, accuracy counts. I get one shot to get it right.

Now this does not mean that I can't touch up photos. In fact, I'm probably one of the better digital artist on this island. People, companies, even non-profit organizations usually knock on my door to help them with their graphic design, or to restore their old photos. Here is one photo that I just recently restored to the best of my ability. Other labs told him that it was purely impossible to get any color or image out of it. I begged to differ.

This photo was rather washed out. Orange mold almost everywhere, and an obvious oval that was caused by the sun.

This was the fix. I did my best to restore it to hopefully what the original looked like. As you can see the color was restored. Details in the skin retained, dust, the ring, and mold removed.

A NON WEDDING POST UPDATE

Eagles lose to Greenbay
THIS IS WHY I'M ANTI-CHEESE!!!
So it's football season. Finally! This is one my favorite times of the year. I'm a season ticket holder to my University of Hawaii football games, and I'm really enjoying this season. We have a chance at making a BCS bowl if we go undefeated this year! If that happens, I will definitely find myself in Louisiana at the super dome, cheering on my Warriors on January 1st. I'm already blocking off that date, just in case. I think if we do make it to a BCS bowl, you will find it very hard for anyone in the State of Hawaii willing to work on that day!
TRASH TALKING BRIDES
Now, for those of my brides who are football fans, I'm sure you know that I'm a huge football fan, more so, a fan of the Eagles. And I have to say this, I can't believe how we lost our season opener. Two muffed kickoffs and punts basically gave the Packers 10 points and the win. The offense played horrible, but good enough to put points on the board. Defense held the offense of Green bay to 3 points. Stupid mistakes, resulted in a loss. But while I'm disappointed in the Eagles, I'm still happy football season is here. There's nothing like waking up at 7am in the morning to watch my Eagles play.
Oh by the way, to all my Wisconsin Brides who emailed and text me to push the win in my face. Thank you, my trash taking brides...haha. I'm sure you'll enjoy Green Bay's only win this year. Hey what other "wedding planner" talks trash with his clients. Am I the only one? As you can see, I'm a very very professional person.
BEEN BUSY BUSY BUSY

So this week has been extraordinarily busy. I've had about a wedding basically everyday. Today, the 10th, will be my last wedding which will mark 10 straight days of weddings, back to back. This Saturday was extraordinarily tough for me. I had 3 weddings, plus a reception to cover. I basically worked form 7am to 11pm, came back to watch my UH football squeak out a win in overtime. Then I got 3 hours of sleep, work up and watched my Eagles play, took a short 3 hour nap, before heading out to do another wedding at Sunset. Yeah, it's been crazy between football and weddings.

I have some great love stories to tell you though. This week, I'm taking about 5 days off, and don't plan on booking any last minute weddings from the 11th to the 14th. I just need to recharge my "wedding batteries." But during this time, I'll be sure to blog about some of the past weddings I did. I truly have some great stories to tell.

HOW DO I PICK MY COUPLES?

Some couples ask me, if they made the cut to make my website. The truth is, there is no cut. I just blog randomly. So if I've done your wedding, and I skipped over you, just email me, send me some scanned photos, and you'll be on my site. I do so many weddings, and all my wedding couples mean a lot to me. But I can't put every one on my site, else I would probably not have a social life. Hahaha. So, this random selection thing has been great. But again, email me if you want to be on my site. I'll be happy to blog about you folks.

Well, I'm going to get some shut-eye now. I'll talk to you all soon!
