Our Past Weddings...

Aloha and welcome to our Recent Wedding Page, or what I like to call it, my company blog. This is where I get to write about my most recent weddings. I'll post as often as I can about each wedding, and a little off-topic wedding blogs as well (Just to keep it interesting). Couples have told me that they love this part of my site the best as they tend to get to know about me and my company more from my postings. Don't forget to call us if you're interested in our services at 1-800-557-1310 or email us at info@dreamweddingshawaii.com

O Canada! Well, pretty close to it anyways ay?

Michelle and Troy
February 6, 2007
Ko'olina Beach...

Isn't it interesting that people who live next to the Canadian border will sometimes pick up on the accent of our northern neighbors? Michelle and Troy really don't have true Canadian accents, as they don't say "ay" at all. But you can definitely hear their Northern accents come into play when they say a-boot. I think it's really cool. I remember for a month or two, I actually had a run of Canadian couples and I actually started to get a Canadian accent myself!!!

Michelle and Troy come from the great state of the Mall of America! Yes, Minnesota....the land of the Vikings. And like the vikings, Michelle and Troy made the great voyage accross a raging sea, in an airplane, to get married, on the shores of Waikiki. Wait a minute, that didn't make any sense did it. Well, like the great Minnesota Vikings, they decided to come to Hawaii for the pro-bowl! Actually, they didn't...they came here to get married.. :)

The really cool thing about Michelle and Troy was I was able to help them out with the travel arrangements, and their wedding. And I was able to find the right flight, right hotel, and right wedding package for them that was so affordable, their friends were able to come down with them. That's actually quite a feat considering it was pro bowl week!!!

I have to say, Michelle and Troy were truly a couple who shared a true magic between each other. Taking pictures was rather easy. I just had to capture the moment.

Another wedding!

Schaun and Mary
February 11, 2007
Ko'olina Beach

So I thought I'd put up another wedding of mine. You know, I just thought about it. I do a lot of weddings at Ko'olina. And honestly, I still have yet to exhaust myself of photographic ideas there. Yeah, I do a lot of repeat shots like any other wedding photographer, because I know couples want those shots. But sometimes, I throw in a little things different here and there, and viola, something special happens.

I really like this shot here. It's a sunset shot. But I had Schaun and Mary face each other, and well, they ended up kissing. I added a little dutch into there, which is a fancy movie term for "tilt" and you got yourself a pretty cool shot. The complex part of this shot. We'll, the lighting from my flash, had to be balanced wtih the lighting of the background. If it was off by too much, then all you would have is a black background with a yellow dot on the horizon. Many digital cameras have a problem shooting shots like this because the background would get washed out. Again, this is why FILM, will always rule the day. Also the positoin of the sun was on purpose..... Usually on the right or left is a great idea, with that sunlight racing across the ocean to show depth of field is always cool. It gives it that postcard look

Now I don't remember much from Schaun and Mary. I remember their faces and names..., but again lately, I've been playing football, and football and memory don't mix right? But I do remember this. That Schaun really was the one who contacted me, and the one who did most of the planning. He made it very easy for Mary. Everyone say awwwwww at the same time.....

Okay, let me search through my pictures...one more before I hit the hay tonight.

Sorry I've been outta touch!

Hey everyone. Sorry I've been outta touch. I've really been busy lately with a lot of things lately. Not really business related though. I've been working out a bit, trying to drop my weight down from 220. Now I'm 206 pounds, and I look a lot healthier..haha. And I've been practicing football whenever I can. I'm the quarterback of our team, and guess what...I found out I have an arm like McNabb. Yes, I can throw the ball 72 yards!! Promise!! I'm also pretty accurate too. My coffee company as well, we are opening up kiosk here in Waikele and in Long Beach, so I'm pretty excited. Plus we're going retail really really soon...

But all-in-all, I'm still doing weddings! SO DON'T WORRY PEOPLE! I'm still in business.

Lately, I've really had the opportunity to marry a lot of young military couples, hero couples actually. Hero couples who are on their way back into the heart of Baghdad to defend our freedom. Remember, while the war may be controversial to many, you still have to throw your support behind our troops. No matter what your stance is, these guys are still heroes.

So here's a picture of one of those heroes. Many people believe this is a computer generated image because it looks like a half black and white/color picture. Well, it's actually not. It's a camera trick.

See, when you have a stormy background, it naturally turns everything gray. The water, the sky...Everything. Your flash though, will turn anything it hits, colorful. So basically, if you just take a shot that's well posed....You'll end up with a shot like the one above. Stormy weather does not mean you can't get great shots. All it means is that you'll get different shots...Sometimes, more dramatic than others.

Well, that's my update for today. I have 4 weddings this weekend! Can you believe that....And I have one on the Big Island as well. So I'll be gone for a bit. Don't forget to call or to email me if you have any questions!
