Our Past Weddings...

Aloha and welcome to our Recent Wedding Page, or what I like to call it, my company blog. This is where I get to write about my most recent weddings. I'll post as often as I can about each wedding, and a little off-topic wedding blogs as well (Just to keep it interesting). Couples have told me that they love this part of my site the best as they tend to get to know about me and my company more from my postings. Don't forget to call us if you're interested in our services at 1-800-557-1310 or email us at info@dreamweddingshawaii.com

Computer Graphics, touching up photos

If you've read my blog, I'm a huge fan of film. I'm not a huge fan of digital photography. I always believe that a shot should be as real as possible, without any "touching up." Most digital photographers will take your picture, then touch up the exposure later in the computer. Sometimes they may fix your hair, put in a fake sunset, you name it.

Well, to me, any touchups is a form of cheating. If it's not real, then where's the skill of photography? As a wedding photographer, I am trying to glamourize the true moment of your wedding, not to make one up. So I will not snap a shot of film if there is a person in the background, put in a fake sunset, or if your hair is getting "wind-blown." I'm like a sniper, I only shoot when the shot is perfect. To me, accuracy counts. I get one shot to get it right.

Now this does not mean that I can't touch up photos. In fact, I'm probably one of the better digital artist on this island. People, companies, even non-profit organizations usually knock on my door to help them with their graphic design, or to restore their old photos. Here is one photo that I just recently restored to the best of my ability. Other labs told him that it was purely impossible to get any color or image out of it. I begged to differ.

This photo was rather washed out. Orange mold almost everywhere, and an obvious oval that was caused by the sun.

This was the fix. I did my best to restore it to hopefully what the original looked like. As you can see the color was restored. Details in the skin retained, dust, the ring, and mold removed.
