Hey there! So you found the most interesting page on my site. This is my recent Oahu wedding, Hawaii wedding, and...well..lets be honest, it's a blog. The story behind this blog, well, it started out purely about Hawaii weddings, then it evolved into everything and all of the above. Basically, ITS MY BLOG!! So I write about anything on here. I updated this blog "alomost" on a daily basis. You can learn more about me, my quirks, my style, and of course, you'll get wedding tips here. Call me if you want to make me richer..I mean, book my services! 1-877-WED-IN-HAWAII or email me at info@dreamweddingshawaii.com
Dean and Christine Mckinnon
Waimanolo Beach April 18, 2005
Dean and Christine tied the knot on the beach in front of a house they rented in Waimanalo. I believe Christine is a nurse, and Dean works in the real estate industry...Either building houses, or something like that. Both are from Canada, and are very very cool. For some strange reason I kept calling Dean "Roman." The funny thing about it is that it became his nickname for the weekend. I'm still trying to figure out who I got Roman from Dean. Both Christine and Dean are a very photogenic couple. Christine made a comment to me that she doesn't like her pictures to be taken...I don't know why she's very photogenic don't you think?
Anyway...onto the wedding details. Reverend Mark Kurnow performed the ceremony rather than reverend Elias Parker. There isn't much difference between the two ceremonies. Both use Hawaiian, both memorize all their vows, the only difference is that Mark talks about "ho'o pono pono." What is ho'o pono pono? Beats me. He describes it in the service, but I hardly listen to it because I'm usually focusing on taking pictures. Usually, what's going on in my head during the ceremony are different equations consisting of shutter-speeds and f-stops as I scramble to snap pictures and get the exposure EXACTLY correct.
For the ceremony, Christine had her son and daughter give her away. Both Dean and Christine shared their own vows, and as a little touch, gave leis away to each guest during the ceremony. Make sure to view their wedding by clicking here That link will take you to a video stream of their wedding. The only regrets I have is that I did not have the opportunity to take Christine and Dean mountain biking. Christine is an avid mountain biker, and Dean is just getting into it. When they come down to Oahu next year, I will definitely take them biking.
