Aloha and welcome to our Recent Wedding Page, or what I like to call it, my company blog. This is where I get to write about my most recent weddings. I'll post as often as I can about each wedding, and a little off-topic wedding blogs as well (Just to keep it interesting). Couples have told me that they love this part of my site the best as they tend to get to know about me and my company more from my postings. Don't forget to call us if you're interested in our services at 1-800-557-1310 or email us at info@dreamweddingshawaii.com
February 20th Wedding - Steve Becker! Kaka'ako Beach Park
I just got around to posting Steve Becker's wedding. I shot his wedding right before I left for Wisconsin so I didn't have any time to post anything. My bad. Before I get into Steve's wedding, let me tell you a little bit about my Wisconsin Trip. Wisconsin, is cold..but not as cold as I thought it would be. There shopping malls are really hot. Temperture hot, on the inside...and you literally sweat when you're shopping. I'm not sure why it's like that. The cheese there is amazing, especically the 9 year old cheddar. That stuff is really really good. I bought some and took it home. Their sausages are awesome as well. I'm sure I gained about 10 pounds during my 3 day trip there. Here is a picture of me an my mom at the miller light factory! Yes, that's how I look like. I'm a young entrepeneur. Me, (Steve Young), and my Mom (Torsie Young), who was a former coordinator.
SO ONTO THE WEDDING
Steve Becker's Wedding was very very cool. We had originally planned to have his wedding at Ko'Olina's Secret Cove. But on his wedding day, we were told that his father had bad knees, was in a wheel chair, and could not navigate the slight slippery grade to get there. So, we moved their wedding to Ka'ka'ako Beach Park, and everything turned out great. The ceremony went great, with Steve's father surprising him with a jewish ceremony surprise, by stepping on the glass.
Steve and Mrs. Becker (sorry I forgot her name, sorry snow got to my head) h0ld very interesting jobs. Steve works in computer programming I believe and Mrs. Becker fixes credit. There children are going to be extra extra smart.
After their wedding, we hopped on over to Magic Island to snap these beach sunset pictures.
This is a great sunset shot, although I wish there would have been more clouds in the sky so it could have shown the altitude of the atmosphere. Taking sunset pictures are not that difficult. For aspring photographers... In most situations, you can meter off of the ocean, then underexpose your shot by 1 stop. Zoom out, make sure your flash is set to over expose by one stop, and then...compose, and shoot. Make sure to use a high f stop, 8 to 16. You really want depth of fields on shots like these. It's awesome. I believe this is f 16 on here. If you underexpose your shot too much you will lose the hairlight and the hairlines. If you overexpose, you will lose the color in the sky (in other words it will be completely white.) Make sure to practice this shot a lot because the sun does drop rather quickly at this time, so you have to be perfect. It may sound complicated, but after awhile, you'll get used to it. So...when you're here in Hawaii and you want to shoot that perfect family portriat...you have no excuse now!
